Weird noise after pool pump turns off

I'm getting a weird noise for about 3-5 minutes after the pool pump turns off. This didn't use to happen but we recently returned to our house after having rented it out for a couple years and now it happens every time after the daily pump run. Here's a video - the noise is quite loud, and again the pumps are turned off.

Any idea what might be going on here?

Thanks much,

-Dan

Welcome to TFP!!!

Is you heater on when you turn off the pump? May be boiling water in the heater. Try turning the heater off 15 minutes before the pump and see if it happens...

If you have automation? Filling out your signature would help...

Do you have a stethoscope?

Or put a glass on various boxes and pipes and put your ear to it and try and pinpoint where the noise is coming from.

Thank you!

I've added signature: 25k gal, IG, Hayward SP32950VSP Tristar VS 950, Hayward 425 cart filter, Jandy 400k BTU heater, Hayward HSP30060 Booster, Goldline GLX-CELL-5, roof top solar

The heater was not turned on - we use it only to heat the spa so the noise is probably not related to the heater.

Thank you. I don't have a stethoscope but it seems like the noise is coming from somewhere close to the valve that controls the water flow to the rooftop solar. So maybe it's related to the water coming down from the roof (gravity?) when the pumps are off? What's weird is that this didn't use to happen.

Appreciate any input very much.

Thanks!

Pictures of your solar setup and valve please?

You may have something clogged in the drain hole of your solar valve.

Or you could have a broken VRV. Let @Dirk look at your solar setup.

A Solar Diverter Valve is different then a standard 3-way diverter valve. A Solar Diverter Valve has a drain hole that allows the solar panels to drain down from the supply side of the panels, which can be important (depending on how your system is configured) when the valve is closed. The "hole" is actually a small check valve in the diverter.

Thanks you for all the feedback. The same rumbling noise I'm hearing by the pool equipment can also be heard by the pipes that comes down from the roof where the solar is installed - again right after all the equipment shuts off. So it seems like it has to do with water flowing down from the roof once the pump stops.

I can climb on the roof and take a look. Anything specific I should be checking?

Thanks!
