Weeping and pebble sheen application

Our next step in our pool build is the pebble sheen. However, we still have some weeping. It is getting better than it was and many spots have dried up. Now there is a little water in the deep end and weeping from the light. Does anyone know if pebble sheen can be applied with slight moisture bc our PB doesn’t want to go ahead until it’s completely dry. We have had a string of very hot weather but still, we feel that with the high temps we have been having it would have been dry by now. We are worried we may have a ground water issue. Just wondering if anyone had to wait for their pool to dry up and for how long?

Welcome to TFP.

We have seen folks in Under Construction to have to wait quite a while for their shells to dry enough to be plastered. I asked the Mods to move your thread to there.

@bdavis466 how patient should she be?

Thank you for the reply. We continue to wait and hope that the hot temperatures continue to help. It is frustrating however because it has already been a month of heat. It has gotten better but we continually see water coming from a few spots and more than just moist, there are small puddle areas. I have no idea what kind of timeline is realistic to expect the earth to dry up and if there is any other plan b we should be considering or preparing for such as french drains etc. Should our pool builder troubleshoot this with us or should we be calling irrigation specialists or pool engineers or just sit tight and hope it dries up before the next rain. Our PB seems to think there is nothing further to be done.

K,

It was a three month delay for me.. The pool builder tried everything and could not stop it. He finally had to remove the new decking on two sides of the pool, and install french drains and a sump pump that has been running constantly for the past 5 or 6 years.

If it drys up.. Great!! If not, you will have to make a place for the water to go...

Thanks,

So, the update is that the pool significantly dried out with just some slight moisture around the light and in the bottom of the pool. Pebble crew showed up this morning and said it all looks great. The process is started and the crew said the pool looks great. We are going with blue granite with added abalone and glass. Just curious if anyone has pics of blue granite.
