We bought our house that has an in ground pool last summer and had a company winterize for the winter. Made the decision to try to open it ourselves with lots of YouTube schooling. Well…we got knocked back to kindergarten! Lol. Thought we had it all done and together. Turned it on and the PSI shot to 30. Read up some more and realized we forgot plugs in the Jandy pool cleaner (nicely tucked in a bush away from the rest of the stuff). We got that all done and it is still going to 30 psi. We are at a loss of what to do now. We pulled all the plugs from the skimmer and the walls/stairs. Greased the o rings for the pentair de filter and got that all sealed up. I am willing to call someone but of course everyone is now booked due to Memorial Day week :/ HELP! From a newbie :)

Welcome to TFP! I'm going to give you our opening link below. In the meantime, please show us some pics of your pool and equipment pad so we can see all the valves, lines, etc.

5,

I suggest that you remove the pipe with the unions that feeds your In Floor Cleaning System.. Looks like a spaceship on 4 legs...

Then turn on the pump and see if water is pumped out the open pipe. Obviously, this is for just a quick test.. See if the pressure is then low..

I assume the big valve in front of your DE filter is set to "Filter"... I can't tell from the pic.

Tell us what happens.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Lisa,

Did you find that plug when you took the unions off like I asked you to do in Post # 5 or did someone else find the problem???

Thanks,

Jim R.
Jim
Yes you were a huge help! I told my husband there may be something else inside the pipes so we originally were just going to clear it out, but found the other plug! Thanks for the spaceship idea! Glad I have somewhere to ask questions
