Water is going to seek level and will spread with outward and downward force. In a round soft sided pool the forces push against the walls and floor. The act of pushing against the walls will pull down on the pool liner, and the liner will pull down on the frame. If the pool is on level ground these forces will be distributed evenly and provide structure for the pool. On ground that's not level the forces will push against the low side more as the water seeks level. A gallon of water weight approximately 8 pounds.
