Is this a chlorine or bromine spa?
When is the last time you did an Ahhsome purge?

Tested the water @ local pool center, Total Bromine 3ppm, TA 38, (was corrected to 60ppm) PH 7.8
Its Bromine activated with chlorine.
Never did the Ahhsome purg.

If you've never purged with Ahhsome, you may wish to try it.
I'd suggest doing the purge 2 times in succession the first time you do it. And repeat the purge every 6 months or so.
Biofilms build up in the plumbing and should be purged regularly.
Also, testing your own water is much better and will provide more consistent and repeatable results.
In Canada, there is only one distributor of the Taylor test kits. Some members from Canada have ordered either the Taylor K-2006C or TFTestkit TF-100 and had it delivered to a US mail drop. Then they drive down to the US to pick it up. Much more cost effective.

So far it looks like the sticky feeling is caused by a polymer coagulant.
