Hi TFP,
This is my first house with a pool, and my first pool season. The pool is 12.2k gallons with a pebbletec finish. The shallow ends and some of the deep ends show the pebbletec finish, while some parts of the deep end have a green tint and I'm not sure why.
The water is absolutely clear - I can see very clearly to the bottom of the deep end - no cloudiness (pictures attached). I did the Overnight FC Loss Test and lost less than .5PPM. Pool chemistry (measured by my own TF-Pro Salt kit and the folks at Pinch-A-Penny) consistently show 0 (or sometimes .5) combined chlorine. There is green/yellow pollen/residue on the screen enclosure, and a lot of green trees that may be causing some green shadows?
Pool chemistry (no SWG, but I'm going to be adding one soon, so there is salt in the pool):
Sep 9: CYA: 60, FC: 11.0, CC: 0, PH: 7.4, TA: 50, CH: 225, Salt: Didn't measure.
- It rained a ton so I had to drain water .... but it's also "feels like" >100 degrees daily in central Florida which causes a lot of evaporation which required refilling. I think this is causing some chemistry to be all over the place.
Sep 16: CYA: 30, FC: 6.0, CC: 0, PH: 7.8, TA: 60, CH: 350, Salt: 2600
I am attaching pictures of the pool water.
Is it possible that it's some metal or something similar? I haven't tried any clarifiers, flocculants, sequestering agents, etc because TFP has scared me from them
Hopefully someone can help me to understand the green tint? Maybe I should SLAM even though I passed the Overnight FC Loss Test?
Thanks!
