Water is clear, CC is 0, but algae is still present?

Upped FC to about 30.

Also tried something different - I used a Pool Blaster to gobble up the gunk instead of a manual vacuum, so the stuff doesn't go through the filter. We'll see if that makes a difference.

Noticeable improvement this morning,

while there's still some visible stuff, it is mostly black debris. When I pushed it with a brush, there's only the slightest "poof" I could see and it's mostly debris swirling and settling quickly.

FC is still at about 25 and CC 0. Should I allow it to fall to normal levels and call it a long day, or keep it at this for another day?

This morning FC at 16 and CC 0. Black debris still visible, as shown in the picture below, but at this point I have to accept I just can't get rid of them completely.

And the skimmer sock from yesterday yellow again

A video of me trying to brush,

Probably not a 100% test book SLAM ending, but I think this will do.

Now, on to a different problem in a different thread...

Yellow might be iron.

The brush is not stainless steel, is it?

Stainless steel is only for plaster and not fiberglass.

Everything looks a lot better.

Maintain an elevated FC for a while.

I have found that my pool is quite susceptible to tiny debris like this, not sure if it's pollen or some kind of fluff from plants. This stuff gets blown onto the surface of the pool and eventually settles into brownish spots at the bottom, especially quickly when the pump is running.1000009338.jpg

If it settles too fast try running a faster skimming speed or turn off the main drain if you have one.
