We’ve had constant issues with our pool build here in NE San Antonio (clay) and our pool builder dropped us like a hot rock saying the water source was not the pool.
Irrigation, septic and house have all been ruled out.

We will have pressure testing redone next week. The Gunite wall where the wet/dry vac is pretty much crumbling. Not sure if it was too much to put in that wall. (Equalizer, skimmer, light…) Water in that hole and when we dug under it is but hard to tell where the water is coming from but looks like the direction of the pool.

Spa side has risen up - luckily not attached to our building.

I let the pool sit 24 hours with it off for a drop test and it doesn’t seem to lose too much.

Now I will do a drop test with it on tonight.

Any suggestions? Do soil injections work?

Thanks in Advance,
Kathy

I’ll tell you that water infiltration into gunite can deteriorate it. I had a leak in mine that caused some damage but it was waaay less than that. Must be a lot of water or been wet a long time.

I will look at the link on how to use the test kit.
That got me wondering and it appears that you had this problem exactly a year ago and were given the same advice. You claimed to have gotten the test kit at that time, then never followed up.

Now you're saying you need to learn how to use the test kit that you have had for a year? What is going on?

I have purchased the pool kit. I’ve tried using it once. I’ve also brought the water to Leslie’s to have it tested. They said as soon as it hits the clay it will throw the reading off.
My pool leak company had fixed a few issues inside the pool and the water stopped. We wanted to let the pool settle before repairing it again. The water started appearing again recently. They retested the area that they fixed and it is not leaking.
Whatever it is, it is not a huge leak but causing plenty of damage with the clay expanding.

We’ve ruled all other water sources again. We lived her years before we built the pool. Back yard was never wet. Build discovered no water when ground was dug up.

We will redo the pressure tests again next week.
Looking into a geotechnical engineer and maybe some kind of natural drain away from the pool.

If the area is dry now, there’s a decent chance that the low water level is below whatever cracks were in the plaster and that’s maybe why it’s not losing water at the moment. The plaster has pretty obvious cracks in it and will likely need full replaster when repairs are done.

If the dirt area still has water in it, do the CYA test with your kit.

I think he needs to test pool water if its mixed to see what it still has chemistry wise but not necessarily the CYA because it may have been depleted and then match one of them to the water exterior to the shell.
