Warped baffle

I don't think it's sun exposure. The cell gets afternoon shade when it's the hottest part of the day. Also, I would expect to see this be a common issue for the SW, like AZ and NV. I haven't found anything online for my problem.

Your cell is vertically mounted with the baffles on top exposing it more to the sun and the heat then a horizontally mounted cell.

Is there a baffle plate on the other side of the cell? Is it warped?

Maybe the cell gets hot by generating with no flow, but that is merely speculation with zero evidence that it happens.

Generation with no flow can cause an explosion, so you need to prevent generation without flow.

Maybe the gasses are igniting without causing the cell to explode if the gasses are not sufficient to cause enough pressure to blow up the cell.

The cell is actually running when there is no floe. It will get hot enough to boil all the water out of the cell. It will not explode if the valves are open so the pressure can be released into the pool. The cell should not by powered when there is no flow. This is not a product defect; it is an installation / operation problem. The flow switch should shut down power to the cell with no flow. There is a problem with the flow switch.

Have you actually measured the heat being generated?

It seems unlikely that the water would get hot enough to boil.

The gasses can spontaneously explode due to a chemical reaction.

Have actually done this with cell in stand and filled with salt water to test cell construction. If left long enough the water will actually boil off.
The cell produces gasses continuously, so how did you differentiate boiling from gas production?

Did you measure temperature rise?

Can you show the graph showing the temperature rise from cold water to boiling with time and temperature?

The process will cause the electrolysis of water into hydrogen and oxygen, so the water will eventually get completely consumed.
