20,000 Gallon pool, I have a new Aqua Cal heater I purchased last year other than that its a pretty basic pool, had it resurfaced this year and its time to upgrade the 15 year old noisy pump. I have done some research and I have it narrowed to these two pumps. I am leaning towards the Jandy because of the aqua link will let me control the pump from the app on my phone. Any thoughts or recommendations, I don't wan to pick the wrong one and end up with buyers remorse. Thanks

They are both tier 1 so pretty equal in quality. Jandy no longer sells to consumers though so you might need to pay for installation. That's not to say you won't be able to find someone to sell you one and install it yourself. Also "Aqualink" is a separate product. You might, however, be able to connect directly to the pump with your phone I am not sure that will work as a stand-alone connection though. You can download the manual from Jandy.

Yes I am going to just buy it from Pinch a Penny and have them install it for $150. They are on Sale this week (all pumps 15% off) and the Aqualink is included with the Jandy. I know Pinch a Penny is more expensive but they are locally owned and I can go into the store if I have any issues with anything I get from there. Thanks

How much are they charging? Are you sure they are including Aqualink? Even the cheapest Aqualink is close to $1000. Probably another $1k-$2k if you have them install it. Are you sure it isn't just "Aqualink enabled"?

YES its just not the full automation it comes with the IQPump01 (about $115) and you control through the Aqualink App.

Just my two cents. Make sure that whoever installs that pump has a licence. A CPO (certified pool operator) is not a licence. Keep all your receipts for warranty. If you self install a pump you only get 60 days warranty on it. In many pool companies sometimes the owner is registered with the state and then their employees work under that licence. That's not the way it's supposed to work.

That's a really nice add on feature for $115. I would get the Jandy over the superflo for that feature if I was buying.

Otherwise the pumps are very similar in performance and quality. Its always best to get a VS pump that matches the automation you already have or plan to get.

Keep me posted on how the iqpump01 works out for you but also hold on to your original controller. It can be easily swapped back in if you need to but both can't be wired in at the same time from what I am told. I have a similar pump that I run 24/7 on low speed.
