Thinking about replacing my Single Speed Pentair WFE-6 with 1.5 HP motor with a vs pump, and looking for suggestions on replacements. Any Ideas?

You have lots of choices.
Gold standard is a Pentair Intelliflo VS 011028.
But - you do not need to hook up to automation so it may not be worth it.
A Pentair Superflo VS might plumb in directly. Check on that.
Then there are 'off - brand' pumps that provide better warranty for DIY install. InyoPools sells their own line.

I'm looking at the INYO ones now. I don't have automation, except for a stenner hooked to my current setup.

I think I am going to go with a Waterway Power Defender 140 Variable Speed Pool Pump 1.4 HP 115V/230V - PD-140. I am a bit worried, how I am going to integrate my Stenner and Intermatic Timer. I want to make sure that the Stenner doesn't run unless the pump is running, but I can't use the interlocks in the Intermatic, because the VS controls the pump, not the Intermatic.
