I doubt it or the other numbers would not be correct. By assuming the published head curve, the measured filter pressure is nearly the same as the calculated one based upon pipe length, fittings, filter, heater, eyeballs, everything in the plumbing loop so I think the head curve is correct.10 amps at 230 volts is about 2300 watts.
2,300/941 = 2.44 times more power than required.
The numbers seem off to me.
Maybe you have the smaller impeller?
Also, like I mentioned before, the measured data seems to match the Energy Star measurements for power fairly well and I am pretty sure the test were done with the stock impeller.
But this pump is not the only one that I have ran across where the actual power usage is well below the motor rating.
But again, you don't know what BHP is.The Whisperflo VST has a HHP of 1.64 and a THP of 2.6.
1.64/2.6 = 63%.
Here is a comparison of several pumps using the Energy Star data. The last line is wire to water efficiency which can be calculated with the given information. In general, the larger THP pumps have better wire to water efficiency which is to be expected.
