Following up on what mcoccia said earlier, here is a link to a thread on whirlpool where one of the engineers whom designed the motor discusses a few things. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1519825
Whilst I haven't used one personally, I've talked to a lot of local service/valet companies and no one seems to have had any big trouble.
Comparatively, most of the companies here are dead in the water with new technology. The P300 retails for about 2-3 times the price of a 1HP single speed pump. Competition against it is basically non-existant, no one is selling Jandy or Hayward. Whilst the Intelliflow is technically available, Pentair's sale strategy for New Zealand is basically non-existant, good luck finding a company that recommends or installs an Intelliflow in NZ.
