Vegas OB! Just got plans back and need some feedback (pics included :) )

Congrats Will! With the wind and all, you'll be having fun keeping it wet all weekend, as the wind will want to dry the surface off quickly. You will rapidly become "one" with your pool...LOL. It's actually kinda nice, put some headphones on, turn up the music, and water it down.

Oh yeah...you know the rules...we'll be expecting pictures posted before they have the hose wrapped back onto the truck..;)

Thanks for all the love and support . They are finishing the spa and I will post pics as they go. So give me just a few minutes...
And Kim I was just about to ask where my cheerleader was... you were late to the party today lol. Your usually posting before the sun breaks and asking if they showed up but I beat you today hahaha. You can't start slacking on me [emoji56]

Lol Kim.... I don't think I have ever seen you sleep past 3am [emoji15]. But here are some pics of the progress

Starting the spa

My boys up early ready for the show along with food and drinks for the workers

More updates later as they finish

LOL Will I can tell you that I have not seen 3:00 am in a long, long, long time! I am guessing your time stamp is your time zone. I think you are 2 hours behind me so that would be about right on the weekdays.

SO.............how did things go? Did they enjoy the food and drink? Did they have any good ideas or tweaks?

It's definitely showing my time zone and it took me a little while to figure that out. I would scratch my head and say , how is she always up so early I can probably prescribe her something for that lol.
The guys were great and professional and it's amazing how globs of concrete become a nice pool shell with steps and benches, they are true artist.
We decided to add another step in the shallow end and they took the raised planter all the way to the wall which looks much better. We also did split level seating in the spa and because I'm tall they took my spa bench 4 inches lower which works perfect for me.

So gunite is done and it was a busy and productive day. The wind almost stopped us but they decided to tarp off the house extra good and press on [emoji2] the best part is I didn't see any over spray on the house or brick wall which was great for me. The hardest part for today was trying to water the shell with 30mph winds, I can tell you that is stinks lol. So here are a few pics

Spa is real big and I'm glad I made it bigger

Looks awesome! I love all the changes. Those little tweaks will make you so happy when you're in it.

Thanks! And too funny I was just commenting on your thread hahaha.
oh I almost forgot , we added another conduit in the second step so we can add 1 more light for maximum coverage and ensure the shallow and step are lit well

Looks great! Congrats..it really feels good to get to this point, because it actually looks like a pool now..:)
The whole family is excited BUT with all these winds I'm NOT looking forward to watering it. I am preparing my lil love laborors to water their fancy new pool for a week if they ever want to get in it lol.
they can tell the story to there kids when they get old how I watched from inside while they had to water concrete in the cold wind hahaha

My two oldest daughters fought over who'd get to water it. Between the rain and the girls our pool got plenty of watering. Maybe your kids will do the same thing [emoji12]

Love the tweaks! The extra step is just right. It looks like it will be very easy for anyone to get in and out of the pool.

I saw the pipe in the step and wondered what it was for. That will be the purrfect place for a light. Will they fill in the gape where it is?

The leveled seating in the spa is a wonderful idea! Everyone will be able to find "their" spot and change as they get hot or cool.

I bet the planter going all the way to the wall makes it look finished.

LOL on the love laborers! "Back in the day I had to stand outside with a hose in my hand to water the pool shell. It was SOOOO windy and COLD!" It builds character! Work for what you want all the way!

I am guessing the winds will not allow you to use a sprinkler.........hand held hoses all the way.

Well, the good thing is it looks like only one day of high winds in the next couple weeks in the forecast. I sure don't remember this windy stuff from last year! Hopefully, we've moved out of that weather pattern, and we can get back to the nice 80-90 degree days we should be having!

And, it's great that your kids "want" to help with the big project! When I'd complain about being asked to do some chore around the house, my dad used to say "do you like to eat?", and I knew that was the end of the conversation..;) But it is good for them, the pool, and Dad, so there's a lot of "winning" going around there...;)

Few more pics of gunite
Extra pool light that was added at gunite

The top wall we decide to close off at gunite

Spa with split level seating

Fully enclosed raised planter

Pvc conduit we added when we closed the wall in so we can run electrical and irrigation
