Valve or plumbing leak

Hi all,
I having water dripping at the joint between the valve (Pentair 261050) and the return pipe as marked on the photo. I am wondering how this could be fixed, I tried some epoxy putty around the joint but that didn't help.


Looking at this Pentair 261050 valve image, where could I cut the pipe so I that I could prime/glue them back again? Or is that even possible?

The pool (in ground, 17,000 gal) is loosing water, but only when the filter is running. It stop dripping when it's off, and the waste line is always dry. I have auto refill, but I am more concerned about loosing all the good chemicals, and high PH.
I am slow but I might have the time to do it myself. I'd really appreciate your advice!

Try one of these for 2" pipe. You need to replumb that fitting by cutting the pipe off, removing the piece in the valve and gluing in a new piece of pipe. This tool is good for a couple of uses or so, and is inexpensive. Follow the directions or you will damage the valve. Use a lot of glue in the valve after reaming with the tool, put a layer on, let it dry and then another as you insert a pipe with glue on it.

Thank you 1poolman1 for your suggestions. I've looked at the tool, and as you said I am now concerned about how not to damage the valve .
Let me see whether I should get someone to do it instead.

Some update: I've got a pro coming out to check it out and he didn't want to replace the plumbing but suggested to replace the whole valve assembly, because the valve could be damaged when removing the pipe. But he also commented that the water loss might not be from that leak. So we tested by blocking either side (pool vs spa) and found no more loss! It's strange but for now, I am just shutting down the spa side and only running the filter for the pool. I will switch on the spa side when it needs vacuuming, at least until next summer.

I would do what 1poolman1 said. It is not hard to do and you can pick on up at any menards/lowes/home depot for cheap.

Thank you Darin, I'll definitely look into that route.
Last weekend, I just had another issue, the water pressure switch from the heater (the one that sits on top of the manifold) just went busted, water was splashing everywhere. I took the switch out and am using a plug in place waiting for the part to arrive.
