I don’t see this mentioned much but it seems like great insurance and peace of mind.Close skimmer(s) completely
Open main drain
Is it needed if you have someone come by?I don’t see this mentioned much but it seems like great insurance and peace of mind.
Idk. I would guess not, but a lot of factors involved. I’m a rather safe than sorry kind of thinker…Is it needed if you have someone come by?
My vacation check list:
Bump up chlorine output slightly
Balance chems
Leave water at normal level
Close skimmer(s) completely
Open main drain
Turn off heater
Put in frog log
Lock gates
On most systems they need most of the flow or they don't work well. I need 90/10 for example. At 50/50, they're all but useless so what's the point at that point ?Why close the skimmer?
You want main drain only. If the skimmer clogs while you are away, you could run the pump dry and ruin it. Even if both skimmer and main drain are left open, if the skimmer clogs the pump will not necessarily pull water from the main drain. It’ll still pull air from the skimmer. Why close the skimmer?
Yeah. Add as close to sundown as possible to wake up with all of it. It seems to have been coming up a hair short so either adjust the SWG to 50% at the 8 hours, or let it ride with 40%/8hours and rely on the extra FC to make up the difference. So, do I dump chlorine in today to bring to just under SLAM and still adjust the SWCG
Another call up to you. It will likely remain fairly stable at 7.8. Lowering it may make it bounce back and surpass the 7.8 quicker than it would have.Put some acid in and bring to 7.4?

I will leave the PH alone.Yeah. Add as close to sundown as possible to wake up with all of it. It seems to have been coming up a hair short so either adjust the SWG to 50% at the 8 hours, or let it ride with 40%/8hours and rely on the extra FC to make up the difference.

LolSafe and happy travels.
Rest assured, if there's any hiccups while you're away, we got you. It won't even be the worst water we see that *hour* that you get back.
You be all 'HALP my green pool' and somebody else will be all 'Bought a house that was foreclosed for 5 years'
(And we'll fix ya both)
I inherited 360 CYA when we moved.I just had high CYA and an algae problem when I first bought the place because the previous owners had no idea..
I will leave the PH alone.
With regards to the CHL, if it works here, I'll add the 4 gallons tomorrow am. There is 0 sun tomorrow as we're gonna get quite a bit of rain, and we won't be leaving till mid day anyway.
I'm going out of state.Where we going??
