Used hot tub initial set up

Hi! I am getting my used hot tub wired today, and I am leaving town for a week tomorrow. I don’t have a way to get ahhsome before then. My tub requires water for the electrical hook up. It’s a caldera Kauai. Can I put chlorine in there now and balance everything when I get home in a week? Or what are your suggestions?

Put water in for the test. When you get back you can clean it with ahhsome and then dump the water and refill.

I had to go outside and check that you did not steal my tub, as I have the same model... :mrgreen: I also bought mine used...

It is small, but works perfectly for just the wife and me...

I say dump in chlorine now and clean it when you get back...

On mine anyway, the circulation pump runs 24/7, so I'd set the temp as low as it can go and let it run while you are gone.

I assume you have a cover, if not, it won't take but a day or two to consume all the chlorine..

I added an "Over the Shoulder" SWCG to mine and could not be happier. I treat it like a saltwater pool and almost never add any additional chemical.. A little MA and I open the cover and let it breath a couple of times a week.

I think you will like it...
