If it's embedded in the pool shell under water I suggest PVC. I have 2 PVC ones no issues ever and they have a fitted screw on cap.
These will be on the pool deck, sorry, should have clarified that.

PVC doesn't corrode and doesn't need to be bonded. PVC would be my choice I think regardless. But probably 6 of one....
Perfect. That’s basically the same as I bought I think.
I think the plastic looks cleaner and one less thing to be bonded. Plus, don’t you have to sleeve the brass one for an umbrella to fit? I saw ID was 1.9”??
I have not seen a brass umbrella sleeve ever used so I am unaware of the fit , plastic sleeves are not a perfect fit also.
I think, if I understand what I am googling, the 1.9” is standard diameter for game poles (volleyball / basketball). You can slide a piece of 1.5” PVC (1.9” OD & 1.5” ID) into the sleeve and use the brass sleeve for an umbrella.
So, I think I may do two of these sleeves in the volleyball spots on either side of the pool and use the plastic ones where we will will be only utilizing umbrellas.
