I am going to start keeping a log of my CYA here to determine what if anything is up. I have gone and bought the expensive CYA from Doheny.

CYA is 70. I am going to bump it up to 80 today and then measure over the next several weeks.

Kato,

I just bought some CYA from Doheny...

I too felt that my cheap CYA was not lasting as long as it should.. But, have no data to prove it.. :(

This will be my first year with Doheny CYA, so it will be interesting to see if their CYA is any better than what I was buying before.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I have used the Puritech stuff, and the RX Clear in the past. Both seemed to raise my CYA but the CYA seemed to disappear very quickly

So someone reported that the Doheny stuff is better so I bought 50lbs of it and will be running a test. I have a sock dangling right now. Will measure in 2 days an post again. Should be around 80ppm.

I will then measure and report back on a semi regular basis.

Ok CYA is 80. Ideal level for my pool for this time of year. Let’s measure again in a few weeks. I will track rainfall to make sure we dont lose water through the auto drain.
