We have an inground saltwater pool. Leslie’s advised me 2 weeks ago to add 2 bags of salt. Stupid me didn’t bother to check the pool myself. Shouldn’t have added any. Salt should be at about 3400 I’m told. I just drained a foot of water from pool and then refilled. Have added nothing but water. Salt content went from 4500 to 4800 according to my Jandy handheld PDA. HELP!!!!

You need a proper salt test kit like the K-1766. That said, your Jandy SWG is fairly accurate as long as it is working properly. Unfortunately, the only way to lower salt is to do a partial water change. Jandy SWGs specify max of 3500. What model SWG do you have?
