After receiving a quote from Margaret in cleaners she thought the Prowler 920 or 930W would fit my needs. Just depended on if so wanted the carrier and Wi-Fi or not.

I’m reasonably confidant so don’t have to have the carrier. Not for the price jump anyways. How important is the Wi-Fi?
My pool is only 16x28. I can’t believe that dragging it out by the cable is really that difficult in this small of a pool and might be faster than driving it to the edge.
Also I’m reading to not leave it in the pool 24/7 so if I dump it in when I leave for work and take it out when I come back home for lunch it’s not like I need to remotely start it.

So is the 930 worth the extra $350?

Most find that the wifi fun wears off after a few weeks & its a feature that’s not used that often. The actual use of it can be buggy as well. Whether that’s worth the $$ is up to u. It would make for an even more expensive toy than it already is.
The 920 does have the weekly timer feature if you may happen to need it for vacation or something.
It’s cousin, the warrior si has the ability to be put into automation mode which allows it to start the cleaning cycle automatically upon receiving power - most use an inexpensive smart plug or timer for this. Not sure if the 920 has that capability or if it’s something u might want anyway.

The benefit to the wifi is driving it to manually clean a spot it may have missed. The caddy would be nice to keep it orderly but can be added any time really or you could make your own.

Everybody is different but I can’t really picture myself driving a robot around a pool. I’m the throw it in and go do something else type. To my way of thinking, the purpose of having it is so it does what it does without me. If it misses a spot and for some reason I really want that spot clean, I’d either make it do another cycle or use the pool blaster cordless. Just another perspective — hope it helps with your decision.

Brant,

I suggest that you skip the Wi-Fi and the caddy.

The basic robot is exactly the same, so you are paying for things that are not really needed to clean the pool.

I run my robot about 2 or 3 times a week. If I have just one leaf in my pool, it will be gone 95% of the time when the robot is done. Unless of course you sit and watch it work. In which case it will never go near the leaf until you run in to use the bathroom for five minutes.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I have the Prowler 920 is a relatively small pool. Pulling it out when it is done with the cord is very easy, and even if you had wifi to drive it to the edge, you still need to pull it out anyway, right? Missed spots? A two hour cycle in a relatively small pool, little gets missed. I am a full blown automation and smart things kinda guy, but the WiFi add on for this little robot is something I couldnt see paying extra for.

Unless someone has a lot of practice drinking a driving, aiming mine in an intended lane with remote would be a challenge for them. Too much latent reaction for my patience. But, my controller being 50' away fixed on the cart, I use the remote to get it aimed to wall and then lift function. I would think over the long term pulling it up by the cable would not be good for the cable swivel or for the cable connector at robot.

I skipped the Wi-Fi on my Nautilus CC plus but got the caddy as I think it organizes the power cord and keep the pressure off the climb wheels and brush (mat). Just my 2 cents.
