Tile won’t stick on infinity edge, oozing white material inside pool

Our pool is 3.5 years old and soon after completion developed several long cracks inside. After that, white gunk started coming through the cracks. Additionally, the mosaic tiles we used on top of and down the huge back side of the infinity wall falls off in patches. Periodically our pool company comes and cleans off large white stains on the outside tiled wall as well. I feel the three are related and I did get an opinion from a pool cleaner. Ideas?

Welcome to TFP.

Post pics of the areas with the white gunk.

It sounds like efflorescence- Efflorescence - Further Reading

The tiles falling off are usually caused by the wrong process or materials used.

They both can be caused by improper waterproofing of the gunite shell and water getting into the gunite and wicking out behind the tiles.

Also the grout between tiles needs to be regularly maintained and any hairline cracks repaired so water cannot get behind the tiles.

Welcome to TFP :)

Exactly as @ajw22 says, sounds like they did not correctly build your pool/tile.. waterproofing is the #1 thing when tile fails.. Most companies/installers have no idea how to install tile nor the time it takes to install tile..
