thoughts on the Circu-Pool Universal 25 SWG for my pool

We have life time warranty on the SWG (including cell) for most of our customer that we service, so we constantly looking for the cheapest cell that last longest. We buy at whole sale price (so a little bit lower than retail). And our warranty term with distributor is different (we get a certain percentage for the quantity we buy)

Lets put it this way, we have tried that shape and we are no longer using it no matter how cheap they are and have swapped all of them out within 1 year.

Your situation maybe different and someone else can certainly share their experience on the 5 year warranty you get from this seller.

@RJ-45 all of the above info is pure GOLD !! I hope you will be able to continue to dance the slippery slope of helping members without running afoul of the difficult (but well meaning and necessary) industry member rules.

Thanks !!

i guess what i am needing to know now, is there anyone out there that has even a similar set up as mine, that could show a diagram of how any of these are hooked up? i mean, someone with a soft sided pool that is not hard plumbed? and also, what is this GROUNDING i read about on some of the installations on these SWG for above ground pools? is that something i am going to have to worry about? like i said, i'm pretty blonde and over 60 and just a plug and play kinda gal. any help would be appreciated. i know alot of them said you have to put the plug in on the cords, but i certainly can do that. thanks gals and guys!!

FYI...The rounded cells pictured are CompuPool cells. The stateside wholesalers sometimes switch manufacturers. There is a reseller on eBay selling T-15 generic units for $350 right now and IMO they will be in for a huge shock when they find out they have to call Australia for any service as many (but not all) resellers tend to push problems directly to the manufacturer.

I also remember the owner of DSP swearing up and down to me that his CircuPool cells were not made in China even after I showed him import data showing otherwise. But we've already discussed where most of the cells are made and not all are bad.

Chlorinatorpro is 100% correct, those Australia made cells are horrible (at least based on our experience), we had over 1,000 of them in the field years ago, they all failed quickly, my boss said he would not touch them with a 10 ft pole even they are free (it cost us time/labor to install and replace them).

I would not say DSP is bad company, but they own many websites and selling products from many sources, some are good and some so so. We get calls from their customers on daily basis from our local service area, and we have nearly 100% conversion rate with our generic.

Actually their support team manager Sonny Adams (not sure his role in the company) calls us a few times a year when they run into difficult technical situations. The caller id always is Pace Research, so we know it is them calling, and we always try to give them some trouble shooting advice as we have retired Hayward and Pentair folks working for us. And I have reason to believe most of the people working for Pace is related. But since we are all in the industry, we help like to help them out.

Maybe too much information here.

Fantastic information. I came across this "unnamed" brand and at $399 it is significantly cheaper than the OEM (listed @ $795 on the Circupool website). Can they be had even cheaper than that? :D
So, when i checked the unnamed brand you listed in your post, this is just the replacement cell, correct? And, with the comments from RJ-45, what he is talking about are just the replacement cells, correct? If this is correct, then are ya'll saying a person needs to buy the name brand WHOLE system to get the other stuff that comes with them? I know I'm probably sounding dumb here, but that is because when it comes to these, I am! Sorry! I just need to know as I have looked at so many I am totally overwhelmed. When i find one I can afford, either they are not clear cell, which I want, they are low rated for clorine output, or the warranty is so short term its ridiculous. Thanks for any clarification you can supply!
