We have an SGS Breeze 540. Bought the house 2 years ago. Already had an SGS 540. It was corroded pretty bad so I ordered an exact replacement cell 18 months ago.
It cannot seem to generate enough Cl. Today results were 1.5 ppm Cl with sample taken right next to a return jet. Yesterday sample results were 0.5 ppm in a relatively stagnant area of the pool.
Test results below are from today for pH and Cl, and from Sunday for all others.
FC - 1.5 ppm (return jet area)
pH - 8.2 - added 1 gallon of MA today
CC- 0.0 ppm today
TA - 80
CH - 500
CYA - 60
Salt - 3000
Borates - 68
CSI - 0.08
Temp. - 70°F

PoolMath says to run at 100% output for 13 hours to reach 4 ppm Cl. I run the cell at 100% for 11 hours already. I just don't see any way this cell will get higher results. The plates are perfectly clean. Is the SGS just not powerful enough? Would the next size SGS be any better? I'm contemplating going with the largest Circupool. It is advertised to give more than double the Cl as the SGS 540.

Does anyone else have experience with the SGS brand?
Thanks,
James

For a 35K gallon pool, that SWCG is undersized. It will add 4.6 ppm FC to the pool if run at 100% for 24 hours.

The Circupool RJ60 would be a great fit for your pool.. Remember always raise FC with liquid and keep there with your SWG.. For Houston I would have your CYA at 80 and keep your FC at 7...

Just because, I would raise your FC to SLAM level for 24 to 48 hours till you pass an OCLT.. then run your SGS at 100% about 15 hours a day once your FC drops to 7.. :)

The SGS Breeze was rebranded as the CMP PowerClean Ultra 540...
it calls for 4000-4500 ppm.
The cells are further apart for cleaning and I believe that requires higher salt concentration.
Not sure if that'll help but maybe it's worth a try.
