This one is for me....

B why a "certified welder"? You can do welding so.......................

LOL I know just the cat that WOULD mess you up! Most of the others run away but this one.........she runs TO the fight!!! of course it is a she!

Kim:kim:

Since this is structural steel the welder has to be certified and observed by a deputy inspector. It's a city thing...

Same goes for the footings, I have to pay a deputy to watch the concrete go in the hole?

It's pretty frustrating but you can't fight bureaucracy

B, the one in the middle of the sidewalk, will you pour a 'round about' for it?

Kim:kim:

Yes, that concrete wall get widened once the patio is built and that planner will be gone
Jeebus, one of them is smack dab in the middle of the walkway. You’re gonna have to put up traffic cones and yellow stripe the lanes! :laughblue:

I'm actually looking for someone to direct traffic, you interested?
Will there be a head clearance issue with the water feature side?

John

Good eyes! It's going to be close but my best estimate right now is showing a little over six feet of clearance. It's not like a stairwell in a house where you worried about egress though, it's a water slide after all. I have to rebuild those stairs now so I might cheat them a little to my advantage. I'm actually surprised the inspector didn't say anything about it because I know I would have questioned it

?‍♂️=? hehe (could not find a speedo YET)

I did not even notice how close the height would be at the stairs! Very good eye there! I am sure B will be able to figure something out to keep us from hitting our heads! Oh wait that might be a ?on the gate

Kim:kim: (has anyone else notice all the new toys we have now???)

Ok serious question. Did you know more than the inspector standing over everyone? I’m going to say yes.

Glad you are moving along. You will prob be done with you project that you started 1 year after mine and still get done before me. Lol

I'm going with a new lumber supplier because my usual took too long to get back to me. Right after I place the order the last quote came in $200 less ?.

The wood is supposed to show up first thing Friday morning and I'll hustle to get two of the smaller beams up before the crane shows up to set the monsters.

It's nice to put things back together. Here's some homemade shotcrete... and the head clearance is 6'-1" to the beam.

Brian, can’t you shotcrete around the pole to incorporate it into the rocks/stairs?

And 6’1” won’t cut it. I’m 6’4”, and if I’m doing traffic detail in my speedo and orange vest, I’m going to need access to the slide for cooling off purposes.

You'll just have to bomb down it head first!

That post will get wrapped later when the stucco goes down, I was mainly interested in closing off that massive hole that was there.
