Walmart and Costco have announced they are not requiring people who are vaccinated to wear masks. This is based on the latest CDC information. When I was in Idaho this week, everywhere outside City of Boise they've stopped wearing masks. In Boise, you walk around outside without one, put it on to go into the restaurant and then take it off 30 seconds later at your table.

Are you going maskless?

Yup. Casinos have dropped the requirement for patrons. Employees must wear a mask until they show a vax card.

NY and about a dozen other states are not going along with it. So nothing changes for me.

At this point I’ll continue to wear mine as it’s easier than trying to keep track of a myriad of different rules at different businesses.

I’m sure over time as I learn which businesses I frequent do and don’t care, I’ll probably relax it at those. But my “default” will be just to wear one.

In Idaho, I just kept a surgical mask in my pocket. If they business wanted a mask, I wore a mask. Most did not.

Here in the Houston area, Harris County still has the mask stuff up. We meet all of the criteria to reduce the COVID alert except test rate under 5%. Anyone who wants a test can get one. The only way to get the test rate under 5% is for a whole bunch of people who don't have COVID to get tested.

Our county still requires a mask, but I suspect that will change shortly. I’m vaccinated (and young) so I will probably not wear a mask once it’s not required unless the business requests it.

Know what I'm never giving up ?? My 6 ft of personal space in the grocery store. I'll have to take it out of your cold dead hands.
I personally have gotten very used to being home or just out fishing with 3 other friends. And I’m pretty happy with that. I’m glad my job puts me on the road alone and with 1 patient at a time or when I’m back at my office my door is closed and I’m alone. I kinda like it this way. I know that doesn’t sound healthy but I have never been a be around a lot of people kinda person. Which makes me not understand why we go to Disney 3-4 times a year but I’m comfortable there. But I still have no desire to go back anytime soon. We have a December reservation and I can care less right now.

I think stores don't want to deal with having to ask to see vaccine cards to let folks in without a mask. Much easier to request that people keep wearing them. I'm vaccinated but I don't mind wearing a mask in public.

IA here... I'm not sure we ever had a mask mandate. We're vaccinated so not as big of an issue. I'll probably wear a mask in the grocery store still... I think that I will not attend large gatherings much anymore. So the one positive about the pandemic is that I kind of enjoyed having no obligations to leave my house except to get groceries. Maybe I'm just not a people person...

My 7-year-old pretended to faint in disbelief when we told him that Friday was the last time he would have to wear a mask at school. He has been a trooper with these restrictions and the kids have had it worse than the adults in my opinion. My wife and I work from home (maskless obviously) and I stopped wearing a mask in stores as soon as I got my 2nd shot end of March. I couldn't imagine having to go to school wearing a mask 6-8 hours 5 days a week. He was very excited to go to school today as you could guess.

Our school district is having a special school board meeting to discuss covid policies for the remaining 2 weeks of school. Several surrounding districts have dropped masking in the schools.

You're absolutely right, the kids have been troopers wearing them all day.

You know what I have not had in over a year. The flu, or a cold. I think I am just going to become a mask person whenever I am in an enclosed space that has a lot of people. Stores and planes for sure. Restaurants is just not practical, and my bar days are pretty much over.

Haven’t been wearing a mask for many months out here. Plenty of signs up but most stores stopped enforcing it a long time ago. Restaurants also opened to full throttle. Nice to see.
