I figured I’d seek advice before shelling out for replacement grids and manifold.
I am having DE coming back into the pool almost immediately after adding it. Here’s where I am at so far:
-I pulled the filter and don’t see any damage to the grids or manifold
-I went ahead and replaced the multi-port gasket in case the issue was there
-I replaced and lubed the standpipe o-ring
I got concerned at first that it was the multi-port because the screen filter on my PSPC kept getting clogged as well. I figured that was the only real way to get solids by once I thought the filter looked ok. Oddly since replacing it, the handle to the MP doesn’t seem to have tension until it is pushed all the way down now. Not getting any leakage in the waste line, but maybe I screwed up the gasket install??
Any thoughts here before I bite the bullet and order new filter grids and manifold?
When I add DE I mix with water and add slowly. I had just cleaned the filter with the hose so I used the 6lbs needs for my FNS Plus, so I don’t think it was operator error. And yes I wasn’t on recirc haha (I’ve done that before).
Less important question, but the filter manifold on my FNS Plus does not have the air relief tube, but just a section with 10 or so tiny holes. Is there maintenance to be done there? Is the tube design better?
