Hello -- I know there are a number of folks from the Vegas area on here. My family is going to be there over Thanksgiving, can anyone recommend a good restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner? Still months out, just starting to plan for it.

Not into buffets (I hear they get crazy on T-day). Don't really care if it's on the strip or not. Just somewhere that will serve a nice dinner -- and not crazy fancy -- kids will be with us. I used to live in Vegas, but that was 15 years ago, so I mostly know my way around the area, but not the current restaurant situation.

Thanks!!

We're thinking of heading to LegoLand (Carlsbad, CA) for Thanksgiving. We did a few years back when my boys were younger and before my daughter was born and it was so nice to be at the park as it was practically empty and the restaurants there put out a very nice T-Day spread of food....I'm so totally over doing the big family T-Day thing with all the cooking and setup, etc. Many years ago when we only had my two boys (ages 6 and 3 at the time), we did T-Day dinner at The Aquarium of the Pacific (Long Beach, CA). Again, the place was empty and it was so much fun eating a big T-Day meal with NO cooking needed on my part....

Yeah!! We already have Legoland booked for last weekend in September. But we went in November last year and weather was perfect. Great place if you have young kids. Really good food as far as theme parks go. Look into the Sheraton or Westin right behind the park. Private entrance to get in the back door, and you won't have to pay to park at Legoland. Rates should be low-ish around then. Only had breakfast at the Sheraton, but food in their restaurant was delicious.

I moved away from Vegas about 8 years ago and we had a tendency to hit up Super Mex each TG as we're non-traditional types. They since changed ownership and the food the last couple of visits wasn't quite on par.

If you're a prime rib fan, I highly recommend Jerry's Nugget on Las Vegas Blvd (old town). GENEROUS portions and very well done. Diner type atmosphere and family friendly despite being in a casino. They've been at their location since the early days of Vegas?. I'm sure they do a TG spread of that's what you're looking for.

I also second what mknauss noted about the station casinos--always decent food. Red Rock & Green Valley Ranch are my two favs for sure.
