TFTestKit Speedstir not working correctly?

Hey folks,

My pool is finally full as of today! So I busted out my TF-100 kit and speedstir and did a basic calcium hardness test to start. However, when I turn on the speedstir, the pill just flutters in place. It doesn't spin at all. I'm assuming this isn't correct behavior. Is there something I might be doing wrong? I used a voltmeter on the batteries, they're all 1.5v, even tried new batteries.

Just want to see if there's some easy fix or something before I try to do a return.

When that happens to me usually a new set of batteries fixes the problem

Ok, tried that already. So other than that, it's probably just defective?

Give the tube a few shakes...happens all of the time when I start mine. Not as bad with new batteries/

You might check that the batteries are installed properly. +/- in the right directions.

This use to happen to me all the time. I thought it was my CCL viles as it was a little better when using the speed stir vile. Had to replace my magnet with a generic type from CCL as I lost the original and it now spins perfectly in both viles. I think it’s just that bit smaller.

So, a friend let me borrow their speedstir for comparison. My device works fine it seems, it's the little pill that's the problem. With his pill my device spins just fine!
