Hello to all,

In Texas, the heat is turned on fiercely. I was just wondering if others have experienced a more than normal evap rate? We had some rains last week, but now it's all sun, no clouds and prevailing winds, which to me, adds up to the max evap rate formula. Also, our pool temps have skyrocketed too from a nice low 70's to 80+ range. Always like diving into really cool water; not the case anymore.

Hope everyone is having a safe summer,
tstex

I'm right there with you! Brutal heat this week. My water temp reflects that as well currently at ~90. The past couple days have also been windy which really increases my evaporation rate. So yes, I'm seeing a slightly larger drop in water than normal. I think we're in for a hot season. Good thing we have pools. :) :swim:

Here in southern Nevada - we have not reached summer temperatures yet. Hanging in the mid - 100's. And the pool is still in the low 80's. And I see about 1" of evaporation a day ......

Our pool water temp is still hovering in the 68-70's and shows no significant water loss due to evaporation for over a week now. Also, the PH level is record breaker. I have not add MA in a week. And yes, it is chilly out here but I am seeing mid 90's for this coming weekend. Finally, Yay...

What voodoo is this “rains” you speak of??

Finally ... it's hot. I was hoping for hot a month ago! :sunny:

Evaporation? My pool has zero evaporation thanks to my autofill. But, my water bill is going up. :-D

Actually, very cheap. The Colorado River runs about 1/4 mile from our house. Our cost is about $2.50 per thousand gallons.

Sounds good - just illegal!!! You have to 'own' a share of the water to take it directly from the river.
