Texas Pool Design and Build

SWEET!!! That looks great! Have you started bonding with it yet? aka watering it to help slow down the curing.

It is time for your set of links! The first set is all about what to do and ask about to get a great plaster job. The second set is all about how to care for your pool after you get the plaster.

Now is also a good time to ask what test kit your PB will be providing so we can fill in any holes.

Thanks for the wonderful information. We are doing Pebblesheen Tahoe Blue. Is the care different than for plaster?

I'll ask about the test kit but I plan to manage myself so I'm sure I'll need the Taylor 100 or something similar lol

Your Pebblesheen is plaster. It is plaster with pebbles in it so you will use any and all things/info for a plaster pool.

I would go ahead and get your test kit so you can test your fill water. Go ahead and ask your PB what kit he provides and see if you can talk him into getting you the TF-100. I saw where one PB's "test kit" was an OPEN bottle of samples test strips!!! UMMMMMMMMMMM NO!

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm how do I say this???? NOPE! That is not good. The guy with the big saw needs to put it down and walk away! He does not have any skills and should be ashamed to even think you would sign off on that!

It almost looks like they did not have enough stone so are making the left over pieces work.

Here is how I would handle the PB. I would greet him then not say anything else as I walked him out to the pool. I would walk to the second pic and just point at it and see what he says. Just stand there pointing and watch him try to wiggle his way out of that BAD job! "Oh it will work better with the grout" is what I am sure will come out of his mouth. Just shake you head and point again.

Thanks for the reassurance, we thought we were right it is a bad job but wanted to be sure. I understand freeform pool is harder to cut but still. Wondering if a different material like travertine make it easier?

OH YEAH!!!!

Now here is your job for this part of the pool build. Get out some socks or dish towels. Tape them on the end of your water hoses! Say what??? LOL This will help filter the water a bit and keep the metal end of the hose off your pretty new plaster. Make sure the hoses are places at the deepest part of the pool to avoid channels in that new plaster.

I can't remember if I shared out plaster start up links yet or not so here they are just in case:
