Testing old bleach With TF-100?

Is there any way to utilize the TF-100 test kit to test bleach directly (or diluted) to find out what percentage it is?

Had a large amount of OLD bleach given to me recently (over a year old) and wanting to test it to see if it would be worth even bothering with. Still smells like bleach but I know that doesn't mean a lot.

You should agitate your water for 20 minutes at night (no UV light to degrade bleach) and then test your FC. Then add the amount you need to raise your FC to goal based upon the stated concentration of the bleach. After adding, agitate again and test again. See how much it changes your FC. You can estimate its effectiveness this way. For example, if it only moves your FC 1/2 what is predicted by PoolMath, then you would need to use double the amount. The only caveat is if you had high CC or organics in the pool that are consuming the chlorine, you'd have an error.

The link above is probably a better more accurate solution, but I was thinking KISS - so 1 tsp of bleach in a 5 gallon bucket should let you find the aprox % as a backwards check - Using "Effects of adding chemicals" on the poolmath page shows .1667oz (1tsp) of 6% bleach should test out as 16 FC in 5 gallons.
