Looking on Amazon at the Taylors k2006 test kits. There is one for 55$ and one for almost 100$. Will the 55$ one do it do I need the more expensive one?

The only difference between them is the size of the bottle of reagents. The 100$ one should be the K2006c which contains I believe 2oz reagents as oppose with to the .75oz reagents. The FAS-DPD powder is the same size. If you need to slam your pool you would need the bigger kit and you would need to buy more FAS-dpd power and more reagents for the CYA tests.
They have the same ingredients, but the expensive one is probably the C version which has 2 ounce bottles rather than 3/4 ounce bottles.
The K-2006 has enough stuff to run about 25 chlorine tests. The K2006C can run about 70. There's a good chart in Pool School - Water Balance for SWGs

TF-100 from tftestkits.net has a better balance of the reagent quantities for what you will actually need. price is between the 2.
I checked out their kit and I can see you can add on things....how is their pH meter for 14$?
If they sell it, then it must be ok. All digital tests are suspect if you do not keep it properly calibrated.

Thanks for the input everyone. Ordered the TF100 and added on the magnetic stirrer. After watching the vids they have on YouTube the stirrer looked like it would be a real nice to have kind of item.
