Temp sensor just hanging?

Is this supposed to be just hanging here or is supposed to be mounted to the bottom of the box that its coming out of? I think it’s the temp sensor for the IntellI touch?

The air temperature sensor just hangs in the air. Its purpose is to engage freeze protection when the air temperature gets low. It should be in shade.

Depends on your electrician on how it’s going to be installed.

I installed mine and used one of the panel mounting screws to secure it just below the panel. I don't like hanging things from loose wires as that adds strain to the wire and can cause issues. It is a lightweight sensor and probably not going to be an issue but it also looks sloppy, IMO.
