Taylor Speedstir Will not Work

I'm bringing back this thread from long ago... 2017. I ordered a speed stir from amazon and received today but it doesn't work after putting in the batteries. I tested the batteries and they had charge so I tried another four batteries but no luck. I don't think I'm missing any steps? Has this happened to anyone else?

My first time I put the batteries in backwards. Might check that.

Otherwise, return it.

TFTestkits.net sells the SmartStir. Works great.

If you return it, get a Smart -Stir instead... I find that it is much better than the original Speed Stir.. They both work fine, but the Smart Stir has a brighter light and a X shaped "pill" that mixes much better.. I really like it...

I had similar issue. I solved it by holding down the power button for a sec or 2 until it starts. Seems that I was pressing button too fast. You might want to try that.

It took me a second to figure out that I had to put the little magnetic bean in the sample vial in to make it work.

Sorry to jump on this old thread, but I just bought my third one on Amazon after the other two failed, and this one doesn't work. I first replaced the batteries it came with and even when I get the light on and it spins for about 2 seconds and stops. Replaced with another set of batteries. Same problem, so I think I will return and try the Smart Stir. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just to go on record for anybody who goofed it, I myself sat there for WAY too long thinking it did something without the water and pill in it. I finally tossed the pill in out of fustration that I was gonna throw the whole thing out, and it sat there laughing at me, spinning away.

Those things are EVIL !!! ‘Check out the new guy’ it says……..‘Let’s mess with him……. Everybody sit still’.
