Now that I am a full-blown TFPC follower, this is the 1st year I am using the Taylor FAS-DPD kit and I noticed that after I do the CC test and the water clears from the R-0871 reagent, if I let the test tube sit a minute the water starts turning a slight shade of pink again. Is the test done after it clears initially or do I start adding drops again and add them to the total?

Thanks.

Mark,

The CC test needs to be done right after the FC test. Once it turns clear, it will always turn pink again if you just let it sit.

Do the CC test once, and then you are done.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I am having the same issue. After putting the drops in until it turns clear when checking the FC, it immediately starts turning pink again. Before I can get the 5 drops in to check CC, it is already pink again. Why doesn't it stay clear after putting the drops in for the FC test? Should I allow more development time?

Should I allow more development time?
No. Just record your FC reading as soon as you reach teh clear point then continue into the CC test. If it starts to revert to light pink it will be fine.
