My pH is about 7.2, CYA is 40 and TA is 40. Would you do anything to the TA or just leave it alone? I thought about aerating just a little to try to raise my pH and maybe it would raise my TA a smidge. Thoughts?
OK> so I would raise your TA to 70 ppm. With splashout, evaporation, and backwash from your sand filter there is a good chance you will need to add baking soda on occasion. Your pH, though, should be quite stable.
I agree mostly with Marty. Yes, raise TA. I'd target 70 and see what it calls for. If it doesn't come out even, round up or down to the closest pound and go buy that much. You might end up at 74, or you might end up at 65. It doesn't matter either way. With the added TA, you pH will come up just a little.
