TA 40 and PH 8.3 with CSI 0.17

Our recommendation is TA of 60-80. Why do you want to lower it? Your logs say TA 75...how did you get that? How are you testing your water?

How do you know it is 8.3?

I would lower your pH to 7.8. Lower in .2 increments or less, test 30 minutes later, lower again. Do not lower your pH below 7,8.

Post a full set of results...

My Ph is at 8.3 and TA at 60.

Your TA is fine.

Your pH is high.

Lower your pH to 7.6-7.8 and no lower then 7.6 so target 7.8.

You don;t need to lower your TA or lower your pH to 7.2.

I would lower your pH to 7.2. Lower in .2 increments or less, test 30 minutes later, lower again. Do not lower your pH below 7,8.

@PoolStored is 7.2 a typo?

I agree lower pH in .2 increments to 7.6-7.8.

Yes, I meant 7.8 (corrected). No need to go lower than 7.8 with TA of 60. OPs logs show a TA of 75.

Would be nice to know how you are testing and get a full set of results.

How did you get a TA of 75?
How old are your reagents?
When was the last time you cleaned your testing vial?

If you are lowering pH below 7.8, then yes it is normal for it to rise quickly.
High TA will cause pH rise.
Low pH will cause pH rise.
With TA of 70, don't lower your pH below 7.8. It should be fairly stable between 7.8 and 8.0.
