I’m a relatively new pool owner, and I’m wondering if this white gasket looking thing is supposed to be in the port that you look through of the swing check valve? Or do you think it came loose from somewhere and just got stuck there? I don’t remember seeing the white thing in there before and the other swing check valve that’s on my equipment doesn’t have the white part. Thank you!

That looks odd. I would take the top off and see what it is. You can get replacement parts for the check valve.
What is the check valve for?
