I’m thinking of converting to salt water. I have chlorine now. We haven’t installed a chlorine dispenser due to the copper return pipes. Can I use a swg with copper return pipes?

Chlorine is chlorine no matter where it comes from - liquid, tablets, or by a SWG seperating the salt into sodium and chloride.
What will damage your copper pipes is any low pH. Heaters often have copper heat exchangers and do fine with SWG pools.
