Swap from Glo Bright to Micro Bright...(pentiar)?

My Glo brights have now failed ( i have 5), I needing to replace them and am curious if anyone has ever done the swap. I read there is an adapter required. Mostly will the bubbler housing i have be able to house the MicroBright LEDs.
TIA.

In 2024 Pentair released an improved GloBrite light that a blue gasket and black end cap (left side), with improvements to the electronics inside to fix the failures the lights have been having.

Only time will tell if these have better reliability then the original lights.

I swapped the Globrites for Microbrites earlier this year. I did know about the updated Globrite, but was not confident that ordering from an online source, they would be sending newly updated units. That and not knowing anything about the longevity of the updated Globrite, I opted for the Microbrite.

There is an adapter required, Pentair 618040. They used to offer a Microbrite G lamp, 602166, which was a color LED Microbrite, with a 150' cord, and the adapter already installed. It appears that the Microbrite G lamp assembly is no longer available. The Microbrite color LED's are Pentair PN 620424/620425/620426 based on cable lengths, 50’, 100’, 150’.

I know I have seen some recent complaints about the Microbrites also having a short life expectancy. From what I saw on TFP, the Microbrite had much less reports of failures than the Globrites, so I took my chances with those this time.

It was mentioned by someone that it is possible to change the Globrite over to the Jandy Hydrocool series light (Pentair Globrite replacement option). I considered this but was not confident that they would fit so didn't go this route.

If your bubbler housing holds the Globrite, it should also hold the Microbrite, as long as you have the adapter. The Microbrite is a much smaller fixture and the adapter makes the Microbrite essentially the same physical size as the Globrite. Here is a good video of someone making the swap...
