I have a 17,000 gallon vinyl liner inground pool in MA. Due to an incident that caused catastrophic damage to my house, the house has no electricity and probably won’t for 6 more weeks, meaning I can’t run the pump/filter the water. Any suggestions to try save my pool water this year? The pool was opened the day the event happened at the end of April. No test results due to everything going on, but looks perfectly clear right now. I will be able to access the pool to work on it now and going forward. Any thoughts are appreciated!

You should at least maintain your FC & pH; use liquid chlorine, add it and brush around. If you are careful, and brush significantly, you should be able to add chemicals. Liquid chlorine and acid to maintain FC and pH alone would likely carry you through. Just add smaller amounts then brush to mix, then more, brush, you should be able to maintain the pool. Might take time, but it can be done.

You might also consider getting a small generator and sump pump. That would allow you to circulate the water a few hours a day. It would also mix the water sufficiently if you pour your lchlorine or acid right over the sump.
