Well first night in the hot tub and Verdict is, she’s about perfect. Very happy with the performance, jets, water pressure etc. Perfect size for us . We have 3 boys so they are stoked. Fired the heater up took about 20 min to get from 59* to 100*. Got a bit hot so lowered to 95* which was perfect. Chilled for 2.5 hours. Tomorrow my oldest comes home from college at UA (roll tide) for turkey break. Waiting for him to break the pool in. Great times ahead. So far so good: side note the plaster folks put off the visit till Monday.

Inside the lanai I don’t think it will get too hot. We also put a French drain around the sun shelf so when the water spills over it will drain right out. We tested it all before the turf was laid. Drains like a champ. Appreciate the good words!

So they are going to empty the pool Wednesday, polish/sand it Thursday and refill Friday. The plaster company seems to know what they need to do so we’ll see. It will be amazing if they can do it all in one day. They also came out today got the Hayward app running great, everything is easy to control and setup great. Almost to the finish line . Looking forward to summer but we’re wearing the hot tube out! Love this thing so far: IMG_1041.jpeg

So they empty our pool. In the hot tub my wife noticed these cracks in the plaster. They are in all 4 corners and a few other spots. Is this normal when water is out. He said sometimes they can get what he called “alagator cracks” which go away when you put water in it. Sounds crazy to me. How concerned should we be? This has been sent up to there bosses. Currently waiting for response

So there are cracks like this in numerous areas in the pool, not just the spa. The plaster company is saying it’s shrinkage since the water came out yesterday. My pool builder says they look suspicious to him. He was supposed to call the president of the plaster company this afternoon. Either way they said they really want to fill it back up with water tomorrow. It’s about to be winter time here. My pool builder is great, so he said let’s fill it up. We will address any issues early spring if there turns out to be any. They said they would replaster if needed. Any input you guys have would be great.
Plaster is wet edge permiera stone (Grigio treasure)

Yes, these look like surface shrinkage cracks due to lack of hydration of the cement mix in the plaster.
Is it a reason to have the plaster removed, no, the plaster should be a minimum 3/4 of an inch thick. The surface cracks are typically less than 1/4 of an inch deep.
Properly hydrated plaster during and after installation will help reduce surface cracks, most likely when these first appeared.
Yes they may rehydrate and swell up again, most likely not completely (keep in mind they possibly occurred prior to initial water filling).
Your builders suggestion of filling the pool Friday and re evaluating in spring will keep the air exposure to a minimum.
