I did a partial drain and refill last night/this morning and made sure to clean everything thoroughly with Clorox (light, skimmer, brushes, tile). I let the pump run for about an hour and then did another CYA test which still shows a level of 100 (not as bad as the day before) so I'm going to need to do another drain/refill cycle tonight. I hesitate to drain during the day because it is 100 and sunny so I'm draining until about 3 a.m. and then refilling to prevent any plaster issues. I also ordered new CYA testing solution but it looks like the soonest it will be delivered is the 11th so I'm just going to continue testing all other chemicals and getting as much water replaced until then. I'm also running the pump. The values I just got are: FC=5ppm, CC=0, pH=7.7, Ta=130ppm, CH=575ppm.
I'm in Las Vegas and we are known to have very hard water but it was 225ppm after our complete drain/refill last summer and went to 260ppm by the end of summer. I honestly haven't been checking CH on a regular basis.
Is there anything else I should be doing at this point? I feel stuck until I get the new solutions. Thanks!
