I am in the process of installing the tiles on my steps prior to having pebble. I marked two inches off each end of the step on both sides and noticed in the middle that the step is slightly thinner by half inch throwing off my line. Do I still follow my line and will they adjust the thickness when they do pebble or do I follow the edge of the step?

My gut says follow your line as they can make it straight with the plaster BUT I would be out there and making sure they did it like you want.
