Hi all,

I'm looking into automatic acid feeding for my swimming pool. From what I read, Peristaltic pump is the way to go, and Stenner is the most recommended brand.

All my pool equipment is in an enclosed area and I want to make sure that acid vapor won't corrode everything. When I look at a Stenner tank (like this one), I do not see any opening for a breathing line. Are these tanks air tight meaning no need to worry about acid vapor? Or should I drill a hole and install a tube that goes outside?

You will want to run a vent.

The Stenner grommets are hard to find and expensive. These are a direct replacement. Link-->https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MPTT48S

Drill a 7/16" hole, grommet in the hole, get some extra black tube, put the tube in the hole, and vent the other end outside and away from the enclosed area and away from any metal.

As far as getting the grommet in, along with the quarter inch tubing in, proves to be difficult but it's also very difficult with the stenner grommet. What I did was use white lithium grease or you can use silicone. You have to get the grommet in, and then slowly start to twist It is a arduous process but it can be done.

Thank you, that's helpful. I reached out to the Stenner tech folks, they told me their tanks "are vented on the lid". If I were to install a grommet and tubing to vent away, wouldn't some fumes still escape from the lid anyway?

Are there air-tight tank out there that I could use? My searches are unfruitful so far.
