Starving pump with vaccum

Replaced my pump recently, and now with this new TriStar VS I'm seeing starvation when I use the manual vaccum (thru skimmer). Any idea in preventing this?
can I use 2" vaccum hose? Would it help?
Plumbing is 1.5" from skimmer to pump, than 2" for about 1.5 feet and 1.5" all the way thru 3 way valve, filter, heat pump, SWG and back to pool. Only 1 skimmer and 1 return.

Reduce the RPM. The suction is too high and it is causing air leaks.

Also, it might help to lube the pump lid gasket and drain plug gaskets.

Ok, will try reducing RPM.
I was actually trying the other way around.
i will see if it works better at lower RPM next time I vaccum.
I already have the gasket lubbed and have teflon tape on drain plugs.

as a note, as soon as I unplug the vaccum hose, pump goes back to normal.
