Start up Guide

Is there any good pool startup guide anywhere. I have spent the last 4 months building my pool and I have everything hooked up, but need to build up the guts to start it all up

I have a cartridge filter, heater and SWG as well. I suspect all i need to do it prime the pump and turn it on, dump some salt in and then take a sample down to the pool store for chemicals.

Is it this simple?

That last sentence tells me you have not done your reading. Some salt ?? Before you go any further stay out of the pool stores and do your own testing .

I have read every manual I have, hundreds of hours of documentation about building a pool, but you are right I have not read about how to open the pool up; thats why I am soliciting a good resource to read

Not much of a startup guide needed for a vinyl pool.

You asking about water chemistry or equipment operation?

Equipment operation. I assume I get it circulating first, then deal with the chemistry.

Fill the pool with water up to at least 1/2 way up the skimmer mouth; set all valves properly; turn on power to equipment; put ET panel in SERVICE mode; turn on pump; pump should prime and water start flowing; check for leaks; check water level in skimmer.
