Yes, that is the softened water 😅

Ok sweet, project descale starts now! I will for sure do a partial drain/refill to make my life a little easier with the csi, thanks for that recommendation. I’m pretty curious to see how long this will take!

UPDATE

It’s been a couple months now and I wanted to update with my progress :)

I have maintained a ph of around 7.2 and been trying to brush the whole pool really well every time I add MA and/or LC.

During one week that I was not so diligent I noticed a yellow/green algae developing along the water line, tested the pool, discovered my FC was just a tad too low, and did another SLAM.

I feel more confident now that the discoloration on the walls/shady areas of the pool is mustard algae and that it looooves the scale buildup.

For the last month I have been pretty darn good at staying on top of brushing, LC, and MA. I have been maintaining FC at 9 (my cya is 60), but I think I may bring pool up to mustard algae shock level again and see if I can do it in for good?

Anyway, here are a couple progress pics: one is my steps halfway through my very first SLAM to today (3 months apart), and the other is the entire pool after first slam complete, then a month ago and at last today, to show the slight yellow on the walls/bottom and how it is fading.IMG_3011.jpegIMG_3010.jpeg
