Sorry to revive this post from the dead but we just moved two weeks ago and have the same filter and same problem. I swapped the seal with a new one and it still leaks from 3 out of the 7 clamps (they all have that glue substance mentioned above). I took everything back apart and wiped the sealing surface completely clean. It seemed like they had used lube in the past but maybe not on the most recent o-ring changeouts.

Any idea what ended up being the problem? Did it just need some time to properly seat? Did the problem come back?

I have the same filter housing, but with sand.

Which model # do you have...the cord rings are different sizes.

Per the manual, the mating surfaces need to be clean, and you do NOT want to use any lube the ring. You need to follow the tightening sequence.

Post your model number and we'll get you the right cord ring part number. I'd replace the cord ring, clean the surfaces and don't use lube...

UPDATE: I wanted to post this here for any future pool owners with similar problems. So we had our “pool school” and the technician showed us how to adjust the settings and schedule of our variable speed pump. He recommended that we run at a lower speed to save on energy, and immediately after changing this, the pump was whisper quiet and the leak stopped! The lower pump outlet pressure did the trick but I’ll be sure to watch for increased algae activity

Seems like a temporary fix at best. It’s sealed at a lower pressure, but will likely leak again as the filter gets dirty and the pressure climbs. Keep an eye on it and resolve to find out the root cause of the leak.
